Our community thrives on collaboration, but when things go wrong. Let us know by reporting it to us so that we can take action to fix it!

Our moderation team works diligently to keep our community safe through our Safety and Trust tools. Unfortunately, despite a considerable effort to maintain everyone’s well-being, there will always be people looking to exploit others by taking advantage of models and professionals looking to get a competitive edge. While this is not ideal, it does happen. ModelManagement.com needs your help in letting us know when someone oversteps so we can take the best action to protect everyone in our community!

What constitutes ‘bad behavior?’

Bad behavior can mean a lot of things. Most of it can be resolved by amicably contacting the model or professional in question to express your concerns. While we expect all our members to be respectful and prudent at all times, we also acknowledge that there will be times when inappropriate language can be in place of a heated argument. In cases where you had such experiences, you have the option of writing a review and letting our reviews team know so we can help arbitrate!

You can also report any community member using a fake profile (also called scammers) or anyone being generally unprofessional–to ModelManagement.com’s support team. While this is not something isolated in our industry, it’s still something that happens and that you want to safeguard yourself against. The first step in doing so is spotting one, so you can report it when it happens! Some telltale signs are:

  • A big payout that is too good to be true
  • A user that asks for a ‘deposit’ before they consider you for a casting. This is glaring when they pressure you to transfer the funds as soon as possible before you ‘lose this opportunity‘ or guarantee work ‘as soon as you make the transaction.
  • Someone pretending to be part of an established brand or agency but does not use their domain name (ie. claiming to be our staff member but uses Gmail to communicate instead of an official ModelManagement.com e-mail)

However, these are not the only things you can base a report on. If you know that a user is also not licensed to use the photos on their portfolio or uses other people’s pictures to create a fake profile, let us know so we can start an investigation!

How to avoid scams

Don’t give away your information!

In a growing digital world, the number of cybercrime has increased tremendously. Because our services are mainly online, it would be wise to guard your sensitive information. Your security is a two-way street. As much as we do our best to keep your data under wraps, you must also do your part in securing your details.

So as a reminder, do not post your personal phone number, bank/credit card account, or complete home addresses on your ‘About me’ or ‘Biography.’ Always use our secure messaging system if you need to provide your contact information, payment details, or a meet-up location.

!Important tip! We cannot be liable for any communication taken out of the ModelManagement.com platform, as we cannot guarantee that your information is secured during transmission. We recommend using our booking system and drawing up a smart contract using our website to ensure payment and that both parties own the agreement for the casting.

Check the person you’re working with

Most of the time if not all the time, before a professional even looks to cast you, they would have reviewed your profile, checked your social links, and researched your portfolio extensively. There’s no shame in doing the same!

A great indicator of a legitimate industry leader would be if they sent you an invite using our secure messaging system, alongside any other contact channel you included when you applied for the casting.

If you have a premium account, you’ll be able to go to the professional’s profile and cross-reference their websites and social media to ensure they’re the real deal. This would also be an excellent opportunity for you to check their brand and photography style. This way, you can not only ensure that you’re working towards a goal of achieving a specific niche but also fitting if you’ll have chemistry!

Suppose you want to supercharge your modeling career; consider signing up for a premium membership using promo code mmgift20 to get an additional 20% off your plan!

Read the fine print

Before you sign any contract, be sure that you read everything. We understand it’s tedious but necessary to avoid any claims of things you did not necessarily agree to. Some contracts may ask for an upfront payment before a casting is set. One example would be on time for print (TFP) shootings, where a studio must be secured through a deposit before the photoshoot. If you both agree to share the expense of that location, you must pay the cost of rent before you can both proceed to shoot. However, this should not be an issue if you choose to be paid monetarily.

Once you’re done reviewing the terms, ensure that the photographer books you through our platform to guarantee your payment using whatever method indicated on your Smart contact!

All else fails, contact our support team!

For any further doubts on the legitimacy of a professional, feel free to let our customer service team know so we can start an investigation on your behalf; we’ll need the following details:

  • The e-mail address that the professional is using for ModelManagement.com or the URL profile of the professional in question
  • Any artifact regarding your claim, such as a contact, screenshot/s of your conversation, or any other document that stresses that an agreement was not upheld

Once you have the above requirements, please message support@modelmanagement.com along with a brief description of what happened so our customer service team can route your concern to our specialists!

Reporting fake profiles

With the advent of social media, it’s relatively easy to get photos off Facebook, Instagram, and the like. However, it can be damaging if someone creates a profile off your photos! Our Safety and Trust team will take immediate action in these situations if you can provide us with:

  • The URL profile of the fake account
  • Your photo identification card

!Important note!

Your ID is used for user identification to ensure that we make changes to the account showing your pictures. You may blur out other sensitive details aside from your name and photo. Your personal data is not stored and will be deleted once we confirm your information.

Once you have all the information we need, please forward your concern to support@modelmanagement.com so our customer service team can assign your request to an account specialist who will review your request to delete the profile from ModelManagement.com.

For this reason, aspects such as location, physical characteristics, or skills of the model are fundamental.

The first point is the most obvious. If professionals only have the information in your profile to decide whether or not they want to work with you, you have to make sure you have it complete and updated at all times.

Your profile contains a lot of information that is relevant such as your portfolio, description of you and your experience, modeling categories you have done or would be willing to do, and Instagram profile, among others.

To edit your profile, access your Dashboard. Make sure you have at least:

Profile picture

Your profile picture is the most important of all. This will be the one that will get professionals to enter to see the rest of your photos and your model profile.

Make sure that your face can be seen, that it is of good quality, and that it does not have filters. It is also recommended that you update this photo frequently to show that you are active.

Personal details

These are your personal characteristics such as age, height, eye color, or measurements. Also, the modeling disciplines in which you have experience or that you would be willing to do.

This information will be visible in your profile and will allow professionals to quickly see if you meet the requirements of the project.

In addition, it is this information that our system identifies to show you in the model directory, recommend your profile to professionals and receive invitations to castings.

Social networks and website

Linking your social media profiles and adding a website (if you have one), will serve to provide professionals who are interested in your profile with more information about you and your experience.

Also, in the case of Instagram, it serves to see more photos of you.

Models who have their Instagram accounts connected are 50% more likely to be selected for projects.

Be sure to connect a profile where there are more professional photos that can serve as an extension of your profile on ModelManagement.com.

An added effect of connecting your Instagram account is that you increase your followers and the possibility of networking with professionals, agencies, and photographers.

In the modeling industry, the portfolio is the cover letter. Through the portfolio, models show their experience, how they look in photos and what kind of projects they can do.

There are many opinions about what makes a good portfolio, how many photos it should include, and what kind of photos are best.

However, this can vary depending on the type of project and client.

Traditional modeling agencies usually send portfolio photos to clients depending on the type of project.

So to have a proper portfolio in your profile make sure:

Number of photos

There is no right number. As a general rule, it is recommended to have between 8 and 12 photos. However, on ModelManagement.com you can have as many photos as you want.

Be sure to prioritize the quality of the photos and not the quantity.

Type of photos

If you have experience taking different types of photos, for example, fashion, portrait, or commercial, be sure to add photos that show this.

Similarly, if you have added in your profile that you do or are willing to do certain disciplines, add photos that support that you can do it.

It is also advisable to have polaroid photos. If you want to know what they are and how to take polaroid photos you can visit this link.

When you apply to an online casting, you are looking for the photographer, brand, or professional to be interested in your profile.

Applying for a casting is like applying for a job. When you do it, it is because you are sure that you like the project, that you have the skills to execute it satisfactorily and that you meet the requirements.

You may be tempted to apply to as many castings as possible thinking that this will increase your chances. However, most casting calls have a description of the type of profile they are looking for and professionals expect to see models that fit their needs. If a model that doesn’t fit applies, they will probably be ignored.

Fortunately, ModelManagement.com posts hundreds of castings every day from all over the world and many of them are for online jobs. Some are more specific than others. But you can always find something that fits your experience, skills or characteristics.

Our recommendation is to apply only to jobs for which you may have a chance. Avoid applying to offers outside your geographical area if you are not able to travel and the casting description does not specify that travel expenses will be covered.

By following these recommendations, you will have a much better chance of being contacted and getting projects.
