Anna is many Annas. Teacher, nutritionist, model, singer… But when we ask her to choose a main profession, she tells us that there is none, that she is multifaceted and it is not possible, nor does she want, to be pigeonholed. Anna, above all things, is unpredictable and faces her life moved by passion and doing exactly what she really wants.

She speaks and expresses herself very well, she has experience speaking and showing herself in public. During her career she has done dozens of interviews in castings, auditions and she has had a successful passage through the Miss World Spain contest. In this interview, Anna shows us that she is self-confident, restless and passionate, as well as very sweet, respectful and smiling.

Who is Anna?

I don’t consider myself as a unique person, because I have many hobbies, many things that I like and I feel that I live several lives at the same time and that is why sometimes I don’t have time to do everything I would like to do.

I am a very natural girl, who does not hide from anything and I’m a continuous learner, I always like to prosper, I don’t like to settle down and I need the adrenaline of trying new things… Challenge myself and see if I can improve myself, is something I love.

Every time I get it, for me it is very satisfying and I always look for a few more doses of those moments. That’s why I love to sing, to model, to dance, to act… and to educate.

What gives you the most adrenaline?

Singing makes me feel very good, it allows me to express many things that sometimes it is difficult for me to say, besides, I think that my feelings come out very well through the songs. I love it… And I should do it more, I should spend more time singing. Being a model also makes me feel great and, although I don’t work as a model the hundred percent of my time, since I’ve been working with modelmanagement.com I am always immersed in some jobs or projects. Teaching fulfills me a lot as a person and I also learn a lot from others. Each little thing completes me a lot in its own way.

Not everyone likes to do many different things at the same time…

It is true, many people prefer to practice a single profession or many people are moved only for one hobby. I need much more, I am insatiable in this aspect. My own students are surprised that, besides being a teacher, I am also a model who also posts videos singing on YouTube… And it’s a shame because this ideology is imposed by society. They have, for example, the figure of a teacher, as a very intelligent person and a bookworm, as a person who only likes to study… I only believe in perseverance, if I like something I won’t stop until I get it. This is my vision of life.

Everything you like has to do with being exposed to an audience.

It’s true, I don’t like being hidden. It is clear that when you are a model it is because you also like to be seen, you seek to feel recognized with what you are doing. Yes, everything I have done has been showing myself to the world.

Having a nice physique, has made you experience uncomfortable situations?

Yes, of course. Like, comparisons between the physique of women, for example. Or when someone is surprised to see that I’m a smart girl, as if because of my appearance I had to be dumb… Some people think that being pretty and intelligent are not compatible adjectives for women. We must change this superficial vision.

What is the hardest part of being a teacher?

When you have doubts when solving a question, or knowing how to manage uncomfortable situations with your students.I think that young people nowadays are very susceptible and sometimes managing their emotions is not easy. They are called crystal generation because they quickly become offended or demoralized.

And what about singing, how did it appear in your life?

It all started during my childhood, when I was eight or nine years old. There was a program on TV “Eurojunior” that I loved, I even auditioned! I used to sing a lot at home and my mother told me that I sang very well, but of course, I thought she was flattering me because she is my mother… But over time I also studied music theory and piano. Later I was chosen to sing in a musical, but I was studying nutrition and I chose to study. Currently, I am immersed in a project for a new song that will come out in a while.

What about your musical inspiration?

I have always loved “La Oreja de Van Gogh” and its first vocalist, Amaia Montero, is one of my favorite singers, without a doubt. I really like her personality and I think that my way of transmitting the songs is very similar to hers and our voices are quite similar, as well.

At what stage of your life does modeling appear?

It all happened when I was very young and happened a bit by chance. A modeling agency in Reus was holding a beauty pageant down the street. I saw it and signed up. I went through phases until I won. At that moment I realized that I liked it, so I decided to join the agency. For a while my extracurricular activity was to go to the agency and learn photography, protocol, makeup, nutrition… And all that helped me a lot to learn and make the leap to international agencies. Over time I signed up for different castings where I did very well, to the point of being second in Miss World Spain.

How was the experience in Miss World?

The truth is that it was a learning experience, especially on an emotional level. This is a very demanding contest, you not only have to be physically perfect, you also sleep very little, you have a lot of pressure and there are moments of great tension. All these experiences have helped me grow, strengthen and enrich myself as a person.

Do you feel pressure to achieve perfection?

I like how I am, I’m not perfect but I’m don’t want to change or to please someone.

I don’t want to get closer to some specific canons imposed by society. Beauty is very subjective, it goes by fashion, so what matters most to me is being true to myself and it is important to know that, whatever you do, it is impossible to please everyone, so I see no point in pursuing perfection.

What advice would you give to a girl who is starting out in the modeling world?

I would tell her to follow her heart, that if this is her passion, she has to pursue it, but to never drop out of her studies. I would advise her not to get carried away by comments that are harmful or related to the appearance and weight of a person. The world is full of colors and for one agency you can be the best model of the catalog and for another, you can not fit in at all. Also, do not be badly influenced by anyone in this sector.

How did your relationship with modelmanagement.com start?

The first contact I had was participating in the Fresh Faces contest, where I was a finalist. After that experience, I signed up for different castings and I have always been getting projects, castings, photo sessions… One day Andreas invited me to the Barcelona headquarters. When I met him, we connected spiritually in a very magical way.

How was the photo shoot with Andreas?

Really fantastic. Andreas told me that he wanted some natural photos, without a lot of makeup, she wanted to show who I really am. He wanted to portray Anna, not a character, and he did it! Andreas made me feel very comfortable. Between shots we talked and he gave me some advice… He even asked me about my complexes and photographed them! Despite being my complexes, he portrayed them by embellishing them. Now I even like them when I see the photographs. It was wonderful. I came home feeling very fulfilled and amazed by his professionalism.

What would you highlight as the best characteristic of modelmanagement.com?

The website has enormous advantages over other agencies, in addition to being a global and online agency that brings you closer to any fashion professional from anywhere in the world with only a click. Years have passed and it is a wonderful tool for people in the world of modeling and acting, also for all those people who would not fit into the typical prototype that was established at the time. It is an agency fully open to all concepts of body, beauty, age… Since I discovered them at the age of sixteen, I have never stopped working on projects.

In addition, you have also participated in some Instagram live videos working for the agency!

That’s how it is! Taking advantage of my knowledge of nutrition, I have done some very interesting live videos and this has allowed me to show not only my facet as a model but also to contribute knowledge. I have also made videos about makeup… All of this makes me feel complete. In addition to giving me visibility, of course!

If you want to become a model, you will probably know that castings, or so-called auditions, are an essential part of the road. All models need to go to castings to audition for the jobs they want to get. For this reason, it’s important you get properly ready and cause the best of impressions, including your makeup. If you’re not sure how to do your makeup for a casting, keep reading this post to find out!

Before getting into it, you need to understand what clients are looking for in castings. Are they looking for an attitude? Probably and mostly yes. But they’re also looking for an appearance and this is where makeup comes into play.

In auditions, casting directors want to see the model in real life and the more natural the look is, the better. This way, they can see your real beauty without any distractions. And you may wonder how this translates into your makeup. Well, the answer is easy: all you need is a natural makeup look, that covers your little imperfections and highlights your natural features.

How to do your makeup?

Take note of the following steps to create the perfect makeup look for your next casting.

1. Foundation

We don’t recommend using a high coverage foundation. The lighter it is, the better. This will help you unify your skin tone. No-foundation is also a good option.

2. Concealer

Add just a tiny bit of concealer in those areas where you need some coverage. This might be your under-eye bags, some pimples, and irritations. You can also apply concealer strategically so you highlight your features such as the nose, eyebrows, and lips. For that, add a bit of concealer on your septum, under the eyebrows, and on the cupid’s bow.

3. Mattifying powder

The powder is an essential in every model’s bag. When you’re on camera, it’s very important to control the highlights of your face, otherwise, the skin will look very oily. The best option is to use translucid powders (with no color). It will help you control the highlights, and at the same time, it will set your makeup so it lasts longer.

4. Blush

Blush will help to give some color to your face. Choose a warm color that matches your skin tone and avoid dark shades that won’t help you get a natural look.

5. Mascara

Applying a bit of mascara on your eyelashes will help you enlonger your eyes and uplift your look. Make sure to use the wand to help you brush your eyelashes and avoid adding too much for it not to look lumpy.

And this is all you need to know about how to do your makeup for a casting. You can learn more on how to get ready for castings with the Model Academy.

Diversity in modeling is a reality. Every time more and more brands are embracing real beauty and selecting diverse people for their campaigns. Nowadays, there are many types of models that are breaking the industry standards, such as plus-size models, models with vitiligo, or tattoos. In this post, we’re going to talk about another popular type: androgynous models.

What is an androgynous model?

What does it mean exactly to be androgynous in the modeling industry? This term is often used to qualify models whose outward appearance is a combination of male and female traits and it’s usually difficult to define if they’re female or male. For this reason, androgynous models can work for female and male collections at the same time.

This type of modeling only refers to the models’ appearance, which means that these models can identify as female, male, or even non-binary.

Who are the top androgynous models?

Because of this diversity in the industry, brands are looking for people with unique and unconventional beauty. These are the top androgynous models at the moment.

1. Erika Linder

Erika is a Swedish model and actress. She’s worked with brands such as Louis Vuitton and Tom Ford and has modeled for female and male collections.

If you want to become a model, you’re probably wondering where to start. To get into the industry, it’s essential you create your polaroids and start building a portfolio, but what’s next? What do you have to do with that material? The answer is searching for modeling jobs. Keep reading this post to know how to find modeling jobs to start your career!

Where to start

As mentioned, before even starting, you need to create your basic model material, which includes polaroids. With polaroids, you will show clients your real beauty, without filters nor makeup. Polaroids need to have good quality, but you can take them at home. Check the following video to know how to create them at home!

Once you have your polaroids created, it’s time to start getting involved in the industry. The easiest way to get started is by creating a profile on ModelManagement.com. This platform allows you to become part of an international modeling community, connect with professionals of the industry, create your network, learn with the Model Academy, and, last but not least, finding modeling jobs.

How to use ModelManagement.com to find modeling jobs?

As the first step, you need to create a model account and upload the polaroids you created. It’s essential you also verify your email and phone number. When you create your account, you will need to wait a few hours until it’s reviewed and approved by our team.

As soon as it’s approved, you will be able to access the whole platform, including the Model Academy. On our castings page you will be able to find hundreds of job offers. You can narrow down your search by using our filters: gender, job type, country, city, and payment. Once you find a casting you’re interested in, click apply, submit your pictures, and voilà!

The best part of using ModelManagement.com is that you will be able to find online and offline castings, so in case that there aren’t specific jobs for your area, you can participate in online projects.

How to find local modeling jobs?

If you’re interested in working offline with other industry professionals, you can have a look at the offline castings available in your area. Just filter by country and city and apply to them.

How do you know you’ve been selected?

Ok, so now that you’ve applied to castings, you may wonder what follows. You need to know that patience in this industry is essential and you will have to wait for clients’ responses. Also know that sometimes clients castings get many applicants, and they don’t have the time to write personally to all candidates to inform them if they’ve been selected or not.

If there’s a shooting date specific or PPM date (pre-production meeting), note it in your agenda, because the following days, they will get in touch with the favorites, and if you’re one, you will get a message! So, keep an eye on your inbox!

The Fashion Industry is constantly changing and evolving: from skinny models to all types of bodies, and now from small noses to BIG ones. Even though this is not a new trend because in 2015 we already saw models with big noses in high fashion, it seems that with the diversity concept big noses came back to stay.

Photographers, brands, and agencies are looking for unique faces, and what is more unique than a big nose? That’s why in this post we are going to show you 7 famous models with big noses.

1. Anne Catherine Lacroix

If you want to become a model, you may have thought about runway modeling. Despite that there are many types of modeling, such as commercial modeling, hand models, fitness models, and many more, runway models have always been the most popular because of the wide media coverage of catwalks and fashion weeks.

The most popular models in history have been runway models: Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Carla Bruni, just to mention a few. These models have the opportunity to walk on the catwalks showcasing different products, such as clothes, jewelry, or swimwear.  Even though becoming a runway model sounds too good, before starting, you should know that you’re not less of a runway model if you work with local brands. Be aware that models who work with big fashion houses, such as Versace or Chanel, are a minority.

Requirements to become a runway model

You’ve probably wondered how tall you need to be to become a runway model. Let’s be honest: not everyone can be a runway model. High fashion modeling is the strictest model category. Especially, if you want to work with well-known brands, you have to know that they require a minimum height and strict measurements. We answer the most frequently asked questions.

How tall do you need to be to become a runway model?

While women have to be between 172cm (5’8″) and 180cm (6′), men have to be over 6′.

What are the measurements runway models have to have?

Traditionally, women have to be around 80-60-60, while 100-80-100 is accepted for men. However, this can vary depending on the designer, the brand, and the casting director. Brands are becoming more diverse and they’re more flexible now with measurements.

How old do runway models need to be?

Despite that the industry is becoming more diverse, runway models are usually between 16 years old and their late 20’s.

How to apply

If you fit into the mentioned requirements and want to start your career as a runway model, you should start by taking your polaroids. You can check the following video to find out how to take them at home.

Once you’ve created your polaroids, you can start submitting these pictures to agencies that represent runway models.

However, the easiest option is to create a free account on ModelManagement.com, upload your polaroids and apply to castings.  You will be able to create your modeling portfolio collaborating with other creatives and learn more with the Model Academy!

Despite fashion models being the ones who get all the attention, there are many more modeling disciplines. Body parts models are essential for today’s industry since sometimes detail and close-up shots are required. In this blog post, we’re going to focus on hands. So keep reading if you want to know how to become a hand model.

First of all, it’s important we know what’s exactly a hand model. Hand modeling is included in the body part type of modeling. They work mainly with their hands but can combine other disciplines too, such as high fashion modeling or commercial.

What do hand models do?

At this point, you may wonder what type of jobs a hand model can do. Well, the question is easy and at the same time complex to answer: they can work in everything that involves showing hands, from working for a cosmetic brand promoting nail polishes, to shooting a fashion catalog wearing jewelry.

As mentioned before, hand models can combine other modeling disciplines. Sometimes, high fashion models or commercial models have beautiful hands, so they work as hand models too.

Requirements

Now that you know what a hand model is and what they do, you’re probably wondering how to become one. Well, of course, the most important requirement to become a hand model is having nice hands. Models are usually expected to have narrow, slender fingers and long, graceful hands. Hand models need to take care of their skin and nails and avoid scars, tattoos, wrinkles, or other marks.

Where to start?

Like any other type of modeling, if you want to work as a hand model, it’s important you build your portfolio. It’s recommended to include a variety of shots since this will give you more chances to work with different clients. Before taking the photos, it’s important you practice your posing. Look for examples on the internet, and try to recreate that with your hands. This way when you’re on set, you won’t have to worry about this, and you can enjoy the experience.

Apply to be a hand model

When you have your portfolio, you can start applying to modeling agencies that represent hand models so you can get job offers.

However, the easiest way for you to become a hand model is by creating an account on ModelManagement.com. You will only need to upload your pictures and you will be able to start applying to castings all over the world, and some of them from the comfort of your own home!

Something about modeling that should never be forgotten is the importance of a manicure that’s just right. Like your hair, skin, and socials, your hands and nails should be carefully maintained if you’re planning on getting in front of the camera any time soon.  This is especially crucial for product shoots because there’s always a possibility that there will be hand shots or closeups featuring your hands. Not only should you get a manicure before your gigs, but you should also religiously take care of your nails, hands, and cuticles in between trips to the nail bar. You can, of course, always give yourself a manicure at home, but be sure to use high-quality products, and keep in mind that it’s hard to beat a good nail technician. Your nails, while small, are important parts of your presence as a model, so here are the best tips for keeping your hands and nails photoshoot-ready.

1. Color

When you get a manicure, go for a nude color or pass on the polish altogether, unless you have specific instructions from the photoshoot stylist. Any other nail color runs a risk of distracting from sample products or the surrounding aspects of the shoot and could potentially clash with the color schemes picked out by the team or photographer you’re modeling for. Vibrant and neon colors should almost always be avoided; if you really prefer a specific color, be safe and ask your agent, the shoot producer/coordinator, or the photographer about which nail colors and designs are acceptable.

2. Never cut your cuticles

Proper cuticle care is essential. Cutting your cuticles encourages the skin to grow back faster, leaving it sore and prone to bacterial infection. Instead of cutting, use a cuticle remover and gently push them back. You can do this in between your manicures, taking care to also apply a bit of cuticle oil to help moisturize and protect the skin.

3. Always apply a base coat

If you get a professional manicure, they will always apply a base coat. For DIY manicures, never skip the base coat, otherwise your nails can become stained from the polish. This is especially important if you apply a long-lasting color method like gel or acrylic, because these can be damaging to your nail bed over time and upon removal.

4. Products matter

For any type of self-care, the products that you put in and on your body are important. The same goes for nails; cheap polishes and oils can contain chemicals that are harsh on your nails and skin. This is especially important if you get long-lasting manicures like acrylic or dip powder. Be sure to only use brands that are trusted by professionals globally, like SNS, for polishes, powders, gels, and oils.

5. Moisturize

When it comes to hand care, moisturizing is key. This is extremely important for hand models. Applying a high-quality hand lotion on a regular basis will keep the skin looking young and healthy. Pay attention to when your hands need to be moisturized; this will depend on your skin type, oil levels, and physical activity. Typically, great times to moisturize are before bed, after a bath or shower, and after swimming. Pro tip: for deeper moisturization, apply lotion the night before a shoot and sleep with nitrile gloves on. This helps your skin retain moisture, so you wake up with beautiful, radiant skin.

6. Take care of hangnails

Hangnails are those small pieces of skin or cuticle that start to grow away from the nail. Some people get hangnails multiple times a week, and others rarely see them at all. When you spot a hangnail, deal with it right away. Trim it back as close to the nail as possible, trying not to tear any skin. Then apply almond oil or SNS vitamin oil to help it heal back in with the surrounding skin.

7. Speed-heal cuts

If you’re a hand model, you should protect your hands on a daily basis and avoid getting any cuts or scrapes on your hands. However, accidents inevitably happen. When you get a cut, treat it immediately. Apply Sudocrem or another healing ointment three times a day, and it should heal in a couple of days with no scarring. You can also find a recipe for a healing serum online; popular natural healers include grapeseed oil and vitamin E. You can add other natural ingredients to help with consistency, such as pure aloe vera.

8. Wear gloves while cleaning/doing chores

This tip is major for hand models but also works if you just want your manicures to last longer. Dish soap and common cleaning products can contain harsh chemicals that will damage your polish and dry out your skin, such as ammonia, strong acids, and phenol. To protect your hands and your color, always wear thick cleaning gloves when washing the dishes or doing any cleaning around the house.

Modeling can be very challenging, but paying attention to small details, like the appearance of your nails and manicures, can certainly be something that helps you succeed.
